Reader question:
How do I, as a student who owns a high performance car, get a low car insurance price?
Mary
Thank you for asking, Mary.
It depends on how dedicated you are to being a student and getting that low price. Being a student while having to worry about paying for high performance car insurance can often be stressful, especially considering that regular car insurance for a woman under the age of twenty five often costs fifty percent more than the same car insurance for someone over the age of twenty five. Students also happen to be the ones who are making the least money half of the time, which puts them in a difficult dilemma. As a college student myself who has a high performance car, I can definitely identify with the stress of finding a low car insurance premium.
I think that my favorite way to do this is one that I am going to miss in a couple of years when I am not a student any more. This is also something that is available to high school students who need low car insurance premiums. It’s called the good student discount, and most customer friendly car insurance companies offer it. The gist of the low car insurance discount is that if you are a student and you get good grades, which they classify as a B or above average or, in some companies, a 3.5 or above GPA, then you can get up to a fifteen percent discount.
