I think that one of the main problems that I have had as the owner of a somewhat aged high performance car is the breakdowns that seem to constantly plague me. The car payments are expensive enough on their own, but then there is also the fact that I do not have a warranty on this car, so anything that happens to it, regardless of how well I take care of it, is up to me to take care of. You could say that this is my fault for buying a car that’s as old as I did, but the truth is that what’s cheap is cheap, but when it comes to having to pay for several breakdowns in a month, it’s no longer cheap.
I was kind of stumped about how to deal with this short of selling the car, which wasn’t much of an option considering the condition and the fact that I was still making payments, when I read a website about GEICO having mechanical breakdown insurance. I had no idea that this insurance option existed before, but it appears that it does and it is a great option for those who don’t have a warranty on their vehicle, or have one that does not cover very much. While this type of insurance motor vehicle repair does not cover some of the many things that warranties don’t, such as mechanical problem that you have because you failed to upkeep your car properly, it is very helpful for things such as wear and tear.
