Reader question:
What is the best way to get high performance car insurance? Through direct line car insurance or through an agent?
Anthony
That’s a great question, Anthony.
And the answers are as variable as the people asking the questions. The truth is that both have their benefits, but you should consider your own personal situation before committing to either one.
Agents
- One of the greatest benefits of an agent over direct line car insurance is that an agent is often linked to several different companies and thus can help you with getting a cheap car insurance quote and comparing the prices. However, one thing to consider is that with the rise of free online car insurance quotes, you can do that pretty much by yourself, and without having to pay someone for it.
- The agent is always on your side, and is often more committed to you, so it’s easier to get car insurance advice from a car insurance agent. But then again, why do you need a car insurance agent for advice when you have this site?
- Can survive in the woods:
Direct Line Car Insurance
- Direct line car insurance is when you are with a certain company. This can be detrimental in that you are unable to talk to a live person about all of your options.
- Having direct line car insurance has the benefit of you often being able to manage your car insurance account and make payments online.
- If you move and you have an agent, then you have to get a new agent. However, if you have direct line car insurance, then all you have to do is call up and change your policy to match your state.
