Antique car insurance

A few months ago I went to a car show that was displaying a lot of antique vehicles, a lot of them from the earliest parts of the twentieth century. Now normally I don’t enjoy events like car shows because I’m not a window shopper, but seeing all of those beautiful old vehicles that were in such great condition was a real experience. There are very few people in the U.S. who are lucky enough to possess an antique beauty, but those who do take more care of their vehicles than most. However, one misconception that is widely spread in the community of owners of antique vehicles is that getting antique car insurance is expensive. Yes, it usually is, but it doesn’t have to be.

It is true that you are going to be paying much more for your antique car insurance than you do for your regular to and from work car insurance, and that you won’t be able to get a lot of the discounts that you would get with a regular car insurance policy. However, if you are interested in getting cheap antique auto insurance you need to know which details to pay attention to.

  • Does the plan offer a month of coverage if you get any new vehicle, even if you haven’t added it to your policy yet?
  • Do you get unlimited mileage so that you can actually take your antique car around and show it off?
  • Can you come to an agreed value?
  • Are you provided with coverage for parts, which are often very expensive to replace on an antique vehicle?
  • Does it come with inflation guard?

Write down and keep track of what each antique car insurance company offers so that you can see which one gives you the best deal. You can also get instant online car insurance quotes from antique car insurance companies, although it is also beneficial to speak with an agent.
